Recycle Chic: Nahui Ollin Bags

We would never have hassled our kids about leaving candy wrappers in the backseat if we'd known those wrappers could morph into such stylish totes . . .Nahui Ollin uses a Mayan paper folding method to make gorgeous bags and accessories. And while they cost a little more than, say, a Whatchamacalit, they're comparable with less eco-friendly purse prices, which means we will opt for the one with an environmental conscience.

There are two things that we, at The Budget Ecoist, are willing to splurge on:1) Really solid, well-made, basic shoes. Why? Because our tootsies matter to us! We like being able to walk and we intend to keep doing it when we are sassy, 90-something Eco Fashionistas! Our slogan...as long as they're not going out of style anytime soon, shoes are an investment. Not quite like a 401K, but sort-of.
